Back from another successful Cave Diving trip to Florida. Last year I flew down with Carl for training, and now I’m hooked. Since we didn’t have any training lined up we pinged Michael for a 1 day guided tour and to work the rust out. The remaining days were spent planning and executing our own dives.
In all we dove 3 different caves:
-
Peacock Springs both the Peanut Tunnel and Mainline
-
Orange Grove (part of the Peacock system)
-
Little River(s)
The diving as expected was amazing. Little River was a pretty cool cave sitting on the edge of the Suwanee River. It had a flow so entering the cave was a bit like swimming up stream. The cave formation was different then Peacock and thus provided variety…lots of verticals with an average depth of 90 feet.
At Peacock we encountered a gator at the cave entrance, the locals didnt’t seem concerned so we jumped in anyway.
Right before I left for Florida my Cannon S200 camera blew up. Since it had a custom underwater housing I had all but thrown in the towel on getting any underwater shots. However a quick jaunt to Best Buy and 30 min with a Black & Decker grinding tool, I was able to shoe horn in my new camera into the old housing.
Pictures are posted here and there are quite a few more vids posted on GooToobe. Just run a search for “SFC Inc Peacock“

I so happy you’re home – and weren’t eaten by an aligator.
Very cool, I like the crab fight. It looked like you lost.
